Selecting the wines we work with is no easy task. In fact once we have identified a potential producer, their wines are then put before a panel of up to 50 international judges from across the hospitality industry. This panel is led by our consultant sparkling wine expert Chris Walkey who has tasted and reviewed over 10,000 sparkling wines, is a published author on the subject of champagne and sparkling wine and is director of the largest uk sparkling wine platform glass of bubbly.
All certified wines, either organic, biodynamic or sustainable are fully vetted before acceptance.
SELECTING THE PRODUCERS AND WINES
Known in Le Marche Italy as the "rainbow man" Federico is among the new generation of premier artisan producers of metodo classico spumante, made from 100% verdicchio. Federico learned his craft in France before returning to Italy and taking over the family winery. His top wine today is Apollonia.
Marie Menger-Krug, winner of the 2019 UK sustainability award, is without doubt one of the finest biodynamic producers of sparkling wine today. The quality of her wines right across the board is outstanding. Marie uses the unique Mondeiche or Moon Oak method of production with incredible results.
Lisa, Eva and the Steininger family are top producers of modern Austrian sparkling wine from the Kamptal region. Lisa and Eva take traditional Austrian grüner veltliner, riesling and muskatellar and take them to a brand new level. A perfect blend of youth and tradition make for perfect wines.
Vernaccia nera is without doubt the most unique sparkling red wine of all. The only wine to be triple fermented, from the smallest DOCG region in Italy, made entirely from 100% vernaccia nera grapes. The region is Serrapetrona in Le Marche, Italy, and the man behind the wine is Mauro Quacquarini.

Royal Riviera was founded by 2 "sisters", Kiron Barui who is based in Australia, and Sara Ramirez who is based in Monaco. Together, with the blessing of the King of Monaco and their love of Art, Creativity and of course Bubbly, they are setting out on a journey to bring a new style to the world of Champagne.
